Nature – Nature consist of all the organisms and entities that are natural and not made by humans. Like animals, plants, mountains, rivers etc.
Environment – Environment is the part of the nature. It includes water, climate, air, etc along with all the natural entities. Environment changes from place to place but nature is same all over the world.
NOTE: Creatures like wild life and mankind are evolving since centuries.
Evolution is a process:
Evolution is a natural process and it is based on the natural selection of the organism. Organisms which are well adapted to the changing environment are more likely to survive. They pass on the genes which availed their survival to their successors.
If an organism is not able to adapt according to the changing environment then those organisms got extinct. For example: Dinosaurs.
Mankind VS Animals:
Mankind – Mankind has developed abilities like reasoning, understanding, logic and vast mental ability with on-going evolution.
Animals – Animals have developed abilities like physical strength, even few of them can fly as well. But there is very less mental growth as compared to the human beings.
Extinction:
Extinction – when a species dies due to:

Why saving creatures/species is important?

Role of government:

- b) By controlling animal trafficking
- c) By creating laws or by initiative awareness
Role of common people:
- a) NGOs can be helpful because they can create awareness
- b) Seed banks
Why evolution is important?
Evolution is important because it demonstrates how life evolved on the earth. It shows the lineage between different organisms and explains the diversity on the earth.
Sample Topic
- Some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental problems. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
- In many countries, the number of animals and plants are declining. Why do you think this is happening? How can this issue be solved?
- It is a natural process for animal species to become extinct (e.g. dinosaurs, dodo, etc.). There is no reason why people should try to prevent this from happening. Do you agree or disagree?
- Human activity has had a negative impact on plants and animals around the world. Some people think that this cannot be changed, while others believe that actions can be taken to bring about the change. Discuss both and give your opinion.
