The chart describes the percentage of their food budget of the average family spent on restaurant foods in given time periods . However , the graph illustrates the number of foods eaten in the fast food restaurants and in sit down restaurants.
In the given data, overall percentage of food budget spent on homemade food was high for three decades. Moreover, the graph shows that the fast food meals dominate more as compared to sit down restaurants in given time period.
Initially, the home cooking completely preferred for the average family with 90% percentage of food budget in 1970. However , in upcoming two decades , the restaurants meals was seen with growth in percentage that was 15% and 35% in 80’s and 90’s . Moreover , they shared equal half percentage in food budget for both in 2000.
Both the fast food and sitdown restaurants started with 20 number of meals per year in 1970. But , in next ten years sitdown restaurants meals were more that was above 30 number of meals while fasr food meals were below thirty. However , in next two decades fast food meals get the pace . As a result of this, fast food meals reached at the peak of 80 number of meals in 2000. On the other hand sitdown restaurant meals was at 50 number of meals in 2000.
