Introduction :– India is a diverse country. Lot of rituals and festive events often take place here in a year. It is generally said that India is a place of festivals. Here I have got this privilege to unveil about a particular festival which is very important in my country. It is nothing other than Diwali.

The festival of Diwali is usually celebrated in the month of November or October and it lasts for around 4 to 5 days.

Explain why this festival is important
Diwali is an important festival because it is a symbol of victory. It represents the triumph of good over evil. This festival is also considered as the beginning of new things. People often start their new businesses on this day as they think that on this day they get blessings from God. People clean and purify their houses. Moreover, people do worship of Goddess Lakshmi.

What do you do during it
I do myriad(number) of things during this festival. First of all, I wear new cloths to look good. Moreover, my family buys lot of sweets for relatives. The most fascinating thing about this festival is that I enjoy popping firecrackers at night. In addition to this, at night we lit candles at our home.

What you like or dislike about it
There are many things which I like about this festival. First and foremost it is the festival of togetherness. On this festival my all relatives come to my house with some sweets. People do the worship of God which is very relaxing and calm.
However, the one thing that I dislike about this that on this day most of the people like to do gambling on this day which is not good, as this is the festival of purity so anti-social activities should not be done on this special day.
