Introduction Statement:
Friendship is the strongest bond that we develop during our lifetime. It is generally believed by some people that it is good for people to make those friends who have similar opinions as them. While, others argue that it is better to choose friends who have different opinions. In the upcoming paragraphs, this essay is firstly going to discuss about mutual understanding between friends which can strengthen their bonding and secondly it is going to discuss that by having friends with different opinions individuals can broaden their horizon of mind.
Body Paragraph 1:
To commence with, it is a true fact that if individuals make friends who have similar mindset as them then it leads to healthy friendship. As there will be a mutual understanding between the friends who share the same viewpoints or thoughts. Moreover, such friends can share their feelings and emotions with each other without any hesitation. As they also have the same kind of perspective and attitude. Moreover, there will be no disputes among them due to any disagreement and they will be more comfortable with each other. Thus, the trust and bonding between them will also strengthen. To exemplify, a survey was conducted by Psychology Department of KPU, in 2021 from which it was found that 75% of individuals said that they and their friends have the similar attitude towards various things.
Body Paragraph 2:
Paradoxically, others opine that it is fruitful for individuals if they have friends who sometimes disagree with them. First of all, it will broaden the horizon of their mind as people can come across different opinions and point of views which can prove beneficial for them. However, individuals cannot be perfect all the time so there will be one friend who should have various opinions who can guide his/ her friends towards right/different path. Ultimately, it strengthens their relationship and helps in developing an overall personality. For instance, an article was published in The Times of India which stated that those friends who have different outlook towards various things can learn something new everyday.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, this essay intends to discuss that there is a mutual understanding between those friends who have similar opinions. Whereas, friends with different attitude can broaden the horizon of their mind. In my opinion, it is better to have friends with different opinions. As individuals can come across different point of views and their thought process also improve.
