Band Sample 5.5: The table below gives information about changes in modes of travel in England between 1985 and 2000.

The representative table provides the information about the changes in different kinds of transformation vehicles particularly in the Great Britain from 1985 to 2000.

A glance is enough to make it clear that majority of people had travelled through cars. On the other hand, negligible distance was being covered by bicycle and taxi in both years.

Coming to details, in 1985, the most preferable vehicle was car. Additionally, average distance covered by the car was around 3200 miles in the year. Similarly, bicycles and taxi were least used by the people. These forms of travelling had covered average distance 51 and 13 miles, respectively. The total average path covered by all modes was 4740 miles.

The same trend was being followed in 2000. Nearly 5000 miles distance was covered by car. Same as 1985, both the bicycle and taxi modes were covered less than 50 miles of distance. But, the average summation distance covered by all vehicles was around 6500 miles.
